• Are all surfaces free from dust, including molding?
• Are appliances sparkling?
• Is the carpet clean and free from stains?
• Are hard surface floors clean and free from stains?
• Are all the windows clean?
• Are draperies and blinds clean?

Remove all clutter.

• Are all countertops clear and uncluttered?
• Are closets clear and uncluttered?
• Have you removed unnecessary furniture throughout the house?
• Remove the art gallery and coupon collection from the refrigerator.

Put mementos in storage, and make room for your buyer’s dreams.

• Are personal family items hidden away?
• Is the color scheme neutral and inviting?

Check the bathrooms.

• Are all surfaces clean and clear?
• Are shower curtains and doors hung properly?
• Is the flooring clean and fresh?
• Are towels neatly hung?

Check the walls.

• Are the paint and wallpaper fresh and clean?
• Are the walls free from holes?
• Are there any colors or objects on the walls that need to be removed?

Check for “pet presence.”

• Are kitty litter, pet food, pet toys or bedding hidden?
• Is there no trace of pet odor?

Check the air quality.

• Does your home smell fresh and clean?
• Does it smell like cookies?
• Are any other aromas pleasant and mild?

Set the mood.

• Are drapes and blinds open to let the sunlight in?
• Are all the lights on, and all bulbs working and bright?
